Travelling to Perth and Yallingup

Despite Perth being the most isolated city in the world, getting there isn’t a problem. Perth International Airport has daily flights from Australia’s capital cities and there are many direct International flights as well.

Qantas (www.qantas.com.au) is Australia’s biggest domestic and International airline, but once inside Australia, there are cheap domestic flights with Virgin Blue (www.virginblue.com.au).

Escape; Safaris for Women will pick guests up from the International or Domestic Terminal of Perth Airport. There  is a shuttle on arrival day and you will be transported aboard a 12 or 22 seater bus to Yallingup (for 5 day ‘Surfaris’ only).

Ground transport over the next 5 days will be in a 12 or 22 seater licensed bus.

At the end of the Surfari, Escape Safaris for Women will drop guests back at the International or Domestic Terminal in Perth, and will also make a stop off in central Perth City itself.

Frequently asked questions

I have never learned to surf. Is Australia a good place to learn?

Australia is the world’s largest island and has thousands of beaches so there are plenty of waves to share. Smiths’ Beach is a great beach to learn at and there are a number of gentle reef breaks you can surf too.

Am I too old or too heavy to learn to surf?

The beauty of surfing is that women of all ages and body types do it! We have a range of modified surfboards that make surfing achievable for just about anyone. We will help you achieve your personal goal, which may be different to the people around you.

Isn’t Australia home to some of the most deadly spiders, sharks and snakes?

Quite frankly, yes that is true. But that doesn’t mean you are gong to come across these villains on your holiday. You will meet the local wildlife and we will help you determine between the friendly and the not so, but as for sharks waiting to sample you? It’s unlikely. We haven’t see or heard of a shark attack on our beach ever.

Do I have to be a good swimmer?

No, not a brilliant swimmer, but we do require that you can swim at least 50 meters. For you to enjoy surfing and for it to be a positive experience it is best that you are a competent swimmer.

I’m travelling alone. Is that OK?

It’s fine. Many people opt to go alone as this will mean they have more of an opportunity to meet new friends. You’ll make plenty of friends whilst away!

Can I bring a surfboard?

Yes you can. Check with your airline for any baggage restrictions and be sure to let us know what size (length and width) your surfboard is so when we pick you up we have the right vehicle for the job.

  • Dinner

What time do I schedule my flight to arrive and which airport do I fly into?

Please fly into Perth International Airport or the domestic terminal. Guests should arrive anywhere from early morning to mid afternoon with the bus leaving for Yallingup at 3.30pm. We will have shuttles to Kings Park where guests can relax and take in a spectacular view of the city until all the guests arrive and then we head off on the bus together.
